The graduate academic year at New College consists of two fourteen-week semesters. Each semester is divided into two seven-week modules, with a one-week recess between them and a one-week exam/evaluation period at the end of the term. The Office of the Registrar maintains a web page with the Academic Calendar links on its website.
The College does not schedule graduate classes on official state holidays that occur during the fall or spring semesters. These holidays include Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and the day after Thanksgiving.
Graduate Student Orientation
New graduate students take part in an orientation program prior to the first week of classes in the first semester. This familiarizes students with New College's academic environment and student support services, and introduces them to faculty, staff, and returning students.
